HISTORY OF THE INSTITUTION
It was fifty year ago, when there was on such facility of education at Chapoli. There was no option other than going to urban area for education. It was not possible for poor people to provide education to their children. Keeping in view the need of the people, Shri Narayanrao Daulatrao Chate along with some citizens having social bondage and vision of education established ‘Navyuvak Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Chapoli June 1964. At the outset Sanjeevanee Vidyalaya, Chapoli was established starting 8th and 9th and 10th classes. Today it is unbelievable that there were only seven students in the beginning there were only three employees a teacher, a clerk and a peon in the school. Later on 5th to 7th classes were opened in the same premise. Later on Shri Narayanrao Daulatrao Chate thought about the expansion of educational network. As a result the Navyuvak Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Chapoli opened Rajiv Gandhi Vidyalaya, Anandwadi, Veer Hanuman Vidyalaya, Himpalner, NutanVidyalaya, Wagholi in Chakur Tahsil in Latur district in Maharashtra. Later on Saint Dhondutatya Vidyalaya, Kolnoor in Jalkot Tahsil of Latur District in Maharashtra.
It was a sincere attempt of Navyuvak Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Chapoli to provide basic education to the students residing in rural area. It became accessible to the students from rural area to study upto S.S.C. standard. Again it was not possible for all to go to the cities and study in the Colleges for pre-graduation courses. In order to meet this problem Navyuvak Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Chapoli started, Sanjeevanee Junior College in 1991. At the beginning there were three faculties Arts, and Science in Marathi medium and Arts and faculty in Urdu medium. It was a type of boon for the students from rural area. Simultaneously Navyuvak Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Chapoli focused on primary education as well , 1st to 4th classes were started accordingly with the establishment of Sanjeevanee Primary School at Chapoli. Thus ‘Navyuvak Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Chapoli provided an opportunity to learn from first standard to H.S.C under the same umbrella.
Later on Navyuvak Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Chapoli established Sanjeevanee Mahavidyalaya, Chapoli in July 1999. The college has now Arts and Science and Commerce faculties. The society has now made such a rapid progress with the establishment of senior college at Chapoli. It was felt by the society to offer quality education in Arts, Science and Commerce to the students of this rural area. Under the able and dynamic leadership of the Principal Dr. Dhananjay Narayanrao Chate, the college has made outstanding progress. Now Sanjeevanee Mahavidyalaya, Chapoli is one of the well known and reputed colleges in rural area. In the present time college offers undergraduate courses in Arts, Science and Commerce streams. In Arts , course is offered with the subjects like Marathi, Hindi , Urdu, English, Sanskrit, Pali, Economics, Public-Administration, Geography, Mathematics, Political Science, History, Sociology and Science faculty offers UG course with the basic subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany Zoology . Keeping the space with time and sensing the needs of the students, applied subjects like Industrial Chemistry, Microbiology, Fishery Science, Dairy Science , Electronics were introduced in the year 1999. P.G. course in Mathematics has been introduced since 2019-20.
The college has a specious classrooms, well-furnished library, laboratories, computer Centre .We have outstanding Sports Department and NSS unit. Majority of the students are girls. They come from adjoining villages to the college. The society has started bus service to make their travel convenient The college has a team of highly qualified, young, and experienced teaching staff with SET, NET , M. Phil and Ph.D. Degrees. Presently, there are 13 research supervisors in their respective subjects.
