ABOUT DEPARTMENT

The department of Microbiologly is one of the importantdepartments of SanjeevaneeMahavidyalaya, Chapolithatwas started in 2010 with the objective of training students in the field of Microbiology to provide technically trained persons to the growing microbial industry of the state as well as of the nation. Since then the department has been imparting technical education to UG students. The Department of microbiology is one of the majordepartments of the college. It consists of a well-equipped laboratory. The microbiology Department was established to provide technical education in field of agriculture by products i.e. biofertilizers and biopesticides. It caters to the Technical manpower requirements at various levels by adopting a new concept of modular system in technical education with emphasis on practical training in industry.

MANDATE OF THE DEPARTMENT

To impart instructions in the discipline of microbiology  to the students of UG degree programme. To carry out location specific and need based research in microbiologybased on the feedback from the extension agencies, stakeholders and farmers of the this region.

EXTENSION

The department is actively helping the farmers by providing the the technical skill in Advanced agricultural farming.

The Department has a well-developed research and consultancy programme.The Department has delivered lectures and arranged consultancy to farmers in the past. The department is also engaged in research activities.

• Average student from rural draught prone area

OPPORTUNITIES:

FUTURE PLANS:

• Departmental Library is proposed in the near future with a reading room and counseling chamber.
• Inter Collegiate academic and cultural exchanges are under Consideration.
• Microbiology Department will try for major and minor research projects from various funding agencies like DST, DBT etc.
• Department will organize UGC sponsored Seminar and Workshop.
• To present research work in national and international conferences held in India and abroad
• To start Post Graduation in Microbiology
